Web Activity Trigger

Web Activity triggers fire based on how contacts interact with your website. This guide covers all three triggers available under web activity category and how to configure each one.

Available Triggers

  • Total page views

  • Last visit

  • First visit

  1. Total Page Views - Triggers the automation when a contact has visited your website a set number of times.

  • Domain - Select the domain you want to track visits on. It should already be in your Poptin account.

  • Trigger when contact visits how many times? - Enter the number of page views that should fire the trigger (e.g., enter 5 to trigger when a contact has visited 5 pages on your selected website).

  • Who should enter this automation? - Choose which contacts are eligible to enter. You can select All Contacts, All Subscribers, or a specific segment, with an optional filter.

  • Re-trigger the flow for contacts that have been in this flow before - Defaults to Every time, meaning the flow will fire each time the contact hits the set page view count.

Once configured, click Select Trigger to save.

  1. Last Visit - Triggers the automation when a contact has not visited your website for a set period of time. This is useful for re-engagement flows targeting inactive visitors.

  • Domain - Select the domain you want to track.

  • Trigger when visitor is idle for how long? - Enter a value and select the time unit. Options are:
    • Minutes
    • Hours
    • Days
    • Months

  • Who should enter this automation? - Select All Contacts, All Subscribers, or a specific segment, with an optional filter.

  • Re-trigger the flow - Defaults to Every time.

Once configured, click Select Trigger to save.

  1. First Visit - Triggers the automation when a contact visits your website for the first time.

  • Domain - Select the domain you want to track.

  • Trigger how long after first visit? - Optionally set a delay before the trigger fires. Enter a value and select the time unit (Minutes, Hours, Days, or Months). Leave blank to trigger immediately on the first visit.

  • Who should enter this automation? - Select All Contacts, All Subscribers, or a specific segment, with an optional filter.

Once configured, click Select Trigger to save.
