How to track your poptin conversions in Google Analytics (GA events) with Google Tag Manager?

After you made sure our code is installed on your website, then follow these steps:

Create a new Tag

Give it any name you want

In the Tag Configuration choose Universal Analytics

Then set up these fields:

In the last field you will need to click New Variable enter your UA tracking ID.

Then in the trigger section, this is what you need to define:

Note: If you want to track when your visitors closed that poptin, replace poptin-form-submit-button for

Close button:
poptin-form-close-button

X button:
close-x-button / close-icon

and instead of "PoptinSubmit" in the Action field (on the previous step), you can call it "PoptinClose".

Save and Publish, and that's it :)

Now you will see all the Events in your Google Analytics

Don't forget to create a Goal for it.
