How to track your poptin conversions in Google Analytics (GA events) with Google Tag Manager?
After you made sure our code is installed on your website, then follow these steps:
Create a new Tag
Give it any name you want
In the Tag Configuration choose Universal Analytics
Then set up these fields:
In the last field you will need to click New Variable enter your UA tracking ID.
Then in the trigger section, this is what you need to define:
Note: If you want to track when your visitors closed that poptin, replace poptin-form-submit-button for
Close button:
poptin-form-close-button
X button:
close-x-button / close-icon
and instead of "PoptinSubmit" in the Action field (on the previous step), you can call it "PoptinClose".
Save and Publish, and that's it :)
Now you will see all the Events in your Google Analytics
Don't forget to create a Goal for it.
