How to import contacts into Poptin?

In this help guide, we will tell you step by step on how you can import contacts into Poptin with multiple ways.

There are 3 different ways to import bulk contacts into Poptin. You can import contacts from a third party service such as Wix, Shopify, MailChimp & Klaviyo. You can also import using a CSV file as well as simply copying the contacts and pasting them in Poptin.

Please follow the steps below for each of the method.

Importing Contacts with CSV File

In your Poptin dashboard navigate to Lead > Contacts and on New Contact click on the drop down menu and click Import.



In the prompt select the second option Upload a File.



In the prompt drag and drop your CSV file with the contacts or upload it using the browse button and click Organize. You can also download a sample CSV file to see how it should look.



In the next prompt you can select the tags or create new tags for the contacts, select the repeated contact behaviour and subscription status. Make sure to only upload the contacts that have consented to receiving emails from you. Click Match Columns to map the fields and properties.



Map the CSV data to the right fields by selecting the properties. Once all the columns are mapped you can click Finalize Import to review the import summary.



Review the import summary and if everything looks good you can click on Import to import contacts.



Importing Contacts with Copy & Paste Method

In your Poptin dashboard navigate to Lead > Contacts and on New Contact click on the drop down menu and click Import.



In the prompt select the second option Upload a File.



Copy your contact information as text from a sheet or document and paste in the prompt and click Organize.



In the next prompt you can select the tags or create new tags for the contacts, select the repeated contact behaviour and subscription status. Make sure to only upload the contacts that have consented to receiving emails from you. Click Match Columns to map the fields and properties.



Map the CSV data to the right fields by selecting the properties. Once all the columns are mapped you can click Finalize Import to review the import summary.



Review the import summary and if everything looks good you can click on Import to import contacts.
