What is "Validation" of input fields?

When you add fields to your popup, you can choose if you want to activate the Validation or not.

Email Validation

Poptin's Email Validation provides multiple validation options.



Check Email Format and Prevent Typos

Validation checks for email in the right format according to the browser check that will include the "@" sign and makes sure there are no typos.

Example - example@hokmail.com or samantha@gnail.com

Accept Only Business Emails

Validation checks for free email providers and prevent users from submitting that email.

Example - Email addresses ending with gmail.com, hotmail.com and yahoo.com won't be accepted.

Format & Typos, Business Emails

Validation makes sure that the email address are free of any typos, checks email format and allows only business emails.

"Phone Validation"

Poptin's phone validation provides multiple validation options.



With Validation

If you turned on validation for Phone field, the visitors will be able to enter 7-15 digits and no letters or special characters except - ( ) and +.

International number with Prefix

Automatically selects the prefix for visitors based on the IP address.

Example - +1 999 123 1294 for US or +44 20 7123 4567 for the UK.

No Validation

Doesn't validate and allows for numbers to be added.

The browser and Poptin check for the @ sign and makes sure there are no special characters in the email address. For more information on how this works please check the article mentioned below.

Note: Error validation messages will be displayed in the user's browser language. Poptin has no control over the language of the validation messages.
