Terminology Guide - Understand different terms
In this guide we will help you understand what each term means in Poptin Email.
VISITORS: Unique monthly visitors refer to the number of distinct individuals who visit your website within a given month. Each visitor is counted only once, regardless of how many times they access the site or how many pages they view during that period.
VIEWS: Total number of times any visitor views the Popups or Forms.
SUBSCRIBERS: Subscribed contact or a subscriber, is someone who opts in to receive marketing content such as marketing emails. A contact becomes a subscriber when they convert on one of your Poptin popups or forms.
LEADS: A lead is a conversion that comes with at least one form field input. I.E, if the poptin has a field (gender, preference or even email) and the visitor fills the field with a value before converting. We consider that as a Lead.
CONTACTS: A contact is generated from a lead that has either an email address or a phone number. If the lead doesn't have any of those 2, it should not be added to the contacts table.
CLICKS: A click is a conversion that doesn't have any form field input (or any data provided by the visitor). This means the poptin didn't have a field, just a button. Or the poptin has optional fields that the visitor did not fill before clicking the conversion button.
CONVERSIONS: A conversion is gotten from interactions with a poptin. So whether the poptin has a field or just a conversion button, when a visitor clicks, we record a conversion. PS: not all poptin or button clicks qualify as conversions. Submit buttons do, but secondary and close buttons do not. Unless the they have been set to count as a conversion.
TRAFFIC SOURCE: This only applies to poptin conversions. It refers to the nature of the site where the visitor came from before they converted on the clients site. The value can only be one of the following.
