How to create an email campaign?

In Poptin, you can send an email campaign which is a bulk email sent to multiple contacts at once. Poptin provides you with an easy 4-step process to help create a perfect email campaign.


Before you start creating the email campaign, make sure you know the things below.


  • Make sure you have subscribed contacts in order to send the email campaign.
  • Verify your From Email and Reply To Email.


Creating your first Poptin Campaign! To create a new campaign, follow the steps below!


  1. Log in to your Poptin dashboard and click on "Campaigns" under Email and click on "New Campaign".


  1. Enter your campaign name and click on "Start".


  1. On Step 1 of creating an Email Campaign you need to select the audience who you want to send this email campaign to.


Send To: You can select the subscribers you want to send the email campaign to, you can also select predefined segments. On top of this you can also make use of the filters to narrow down the exact contact you want to send the email marketing campaign to.


Alternatively You can click on the dropdown icon and click on Add Filter and create the segment that you want to include. To learn more about the segments check our guide How to create a segment?


Don't Send To: To exclude a specific segment of contacts, use the Don't Send To drop down and select the relevant segment. Again you can click on the dropdown icon and click on Add Filter and create the segment that you want to exclude.


  1. On Step 2 of creating an email campaign you can find the campaign setup preferences.


Email Subject: Enter a catchy Email Subject of upto 100 Characters. You can also add properties to personalize the subject line such as adding the {CONTACT_FIRST_NAME}.


Pretext: You can add up to 140 characters of pre-text that will display next to email subject's in your recipients’ inboxes. The pretext field is optional.


From Name, From Email & Reply To:* *Enter your From Name and From Email + Reply To Email. Make sure you verify your Sender Domain and From Email.


  1. On step 3 you can design your email by either selecting any one of the available email templates or designing the email from scratch.


There are three ways to do this. You can either select any of the available templates, scratch the template from scratch or even upload your own HTML template.


Once you are done, you can click next to the step 4 - Summary.


Please follow the guide below to see how you can use the email campaign editor and customize the design of your email campaigns.


  1. In Step 4, review the summary to ensure everything is accurate. It’s also a good idea to send a test email to preview how it looks.


Once you're satisfied with the setup, you can either press Schedule to send the campaign later, or Send to dispatch the email immediately.
