How to customize subscription emails & pages in Poptin

Poptin lets you customize the emails and pages your subscribers see when they subscribe or unsubscribe. This guide explains where to find these templates and how to edit them.

  1. In the right top corner click on the profile picture of your account and click on Email Configuration.

  1. Click the Audience Settings tab to see all the email templates and pages. Each item in the list has a thumbnail preview, a name, and a label showing whether it is an Email or a Page. Every item has an Edit button with a dropdown arrow next to it to see the preview.

Available emails & pages template :

Subscription Confirmation Email - Sent to new subscribers, asking them to confirm their subscription. Once you edit it, a Reset Template button appears next to Edit.

Profile Update Success Page - The page subscribers see after they save changes to their profile.

Edit an email or page :

  1. Find the template you want to change and click Edit.
  2. Emails open in a side panel with a full preview. Pages open in a pop-up with a Subject/Body text field.
  3. Make your changes. The Update button stays greyed out until you change something.
  4. Click Preview to check how it will look.
  5. Click Update to save, or Cancel to discard your changes.

Using placeholders :

Templates use placeholders that Poptin replaces automatically with your company details:

  • {COMPANY_LOGO}
  • {COMPANY_NAME}
  • {COMPANY_EMAIL}
  • {COMPANY_URL}
  • {COMPANY_FULL_ADDRESS}

Keep the curly braces when editing, otherwise, the value won't be filled in.
For example, the default Subscription Success Page reads: "Thank you for subscribing to {COMPANY_NAME}'s list."

Turning on optional emails :

The Subscription Success Email and Unsubscribe Success Email are not sent by default. To enable one, switch on the toggle to the right of its Edit button.

Resetting a Template :

If you want to go back to the original wording:

  1. Find the template you edited. The Reset Template button appears next to Edit.
  2. Click Reset Template and a confirmation popup will appear. Click on the Reset button to restore the default version.

Keep your company name and contact placeholders in the footer so subscribers can reach you.
