How to target visitors based on previous pages visited on your website?

Now you can target visitors based on Previous pages visited by them. This is a Premium feature available on all the paid plans on Poptin.

This feature is helpful to narrow your targeting rules and exclusively show relevant popups to visitors who have visited certain pages on your website.

Please follow the steps below to understand how you can use Previous page Targeting on Poptin:

Go to the Display Rules Settings of the popup

Scroll down to the Advanced Display rule settings button at the bottom of the page and click on it to expand the menu

Find the Previous Pages Targeting Rules there and you will get the option to show or not not a popup based on previous pages visited on your website

You can target the Page URL strings as they appear on your actual page address like /contact-us for the Contact page or /privacy-policy for the Privacy policy page. You can distinguish between four different targeting routes like "Contains" for if the page URL contains the string you are targeting and "Starts with" for if the page URL starts with the string you are targeting and so on

Make sure that you target the correct page URL string

Once you have set it up correctly, click on the "Publish Changes" button at the top right corner

Use Cases:

You can take references from the following use cases on how to use Previous Page Targeting:

Don't show a popup when visitor makes a purchase - You can opt to not show a popup when visitor makes a purchase and is redirected to the thank you page. You can choose to target the Thank you page as previous page visited to not show the popup
