How to create Pick a Gift gamified popup?
In this help article, we'll illustrate how you can make a Pick a Gift gamified popup.
Please follow the steps below to understand the process:
log in to your Poptin dashboard and click on the Create button.
Select Popup from the four available options.
Choose Gamified popups and click Preview and Edit choose the Pick a Gift gamified popup template.
Gamified popups have total four screens
Play Screen
Post Play Screen
Winning Screen
Losing Screen
Each screen is explained thoroughly below:
Play Screen - Pick a gift allows you to give your visitors up to 5 prize options. All the prizes have 6 options that can be customized.
Chances and Weight : Chances and Weight lets you set the probability of each prize that is to be won. If you set more chances for a prize then the probability of your visitors winning the same prize increases. For e.g., If you want more people to win a "10% discount" coupon, then you can set the chances for 10% discount as 2 so that more people win the 10% discount prize and lesser people win the other prizes.
Prize label : You can set a creative name for the prizes that you are giving away.
Code : The coupon code or Gift that your visitors get
Losing option : You can keep this checkbox as tick marked when you want to keep a few random attempts where the visitor wins no prize. On getting this, they will be redirected to Losing Screen.
Redirect : Keep this checkbox ticked if you wish to redirect the user upon winning the prize such as your cart or checkout page.
Add More : Add more prizes to the Pick a Gift game. You can add up to 5 gifts.
Equal Chances : You can keep this checkbox ticked if you want the play to be fair and give all prizes an equal chance.
Post-play Screen - When the visitor wins a prize they will add their email address to this screen and will be taken to the Winning Screen. You can add more input fields here like Name, email, etc. which the visitor needs to fill out in order to find the coupon code. You can also use the merge tag {{ prize_label }} to dynamically call the prize won in the Text or Button.
You can also disable the Post Play screen and get the visitor to jump directly on Winning or Losing screen depending on whether they win or lose. You can disable it if you don't want to collect any information from your visitors like Name, email, etc. The option to disable Post Play screen is on the left menu on the Design settings of the popup:
Winning Screen - Winning Screen comes after Post-Play Screen and shows the prize won to the customer. You can use the merge tag {{ prize_label }} to dynamically call the prize won in the Text or Button.
Losing Screen : If your visitors Pick a gift and land on a losing option they will be redirected to the Losing Screen.
There are several other customization options available when you are designing a "Pick a Gift" popup which are explained below. The editing options will appear when you click on the Gift Icons in the editing section on the Design page:
Resize the Gift Icons - You can choose to make the Gift icons bigger or smaller
Change Gift Icons - You can replace the Gift icon with a design of your own from this option
Inbetween Spacing - You can make the Gift Icons appear nearer or farther and adjust the space between two Gift icons
Giftbox Effects - You can choose the animation effects for the Gift Box from our animation effects. This setting is available on the left menu of the Design settings for the popup.
Keep same Background on all Screens - You can choose to keep the same Background on all four screens explained above or you can change the background in each screen, i.e., Play Screen, Post Play Screen, and so on. To keep the Background on all screens the same, make sure you tick mark this checkbox at the bottom of Background settings on Design settings of the popup.
Delete Gift - You can delete Gift Icons by clicking on the trash icon in the Prizes section
Note : How does our Algorithm choose the gift?
The prize is not assigned to a specific gift, you can think of the gift boxes as one black box that runs the winning algorithm in the background and then chooses one out of the available prizes.
As the gamified popups come with Hidden Fields, you will be able to receive the Prize Label and Prize Code details in the Poptin's Activity within the Lead Details in the contact section on your Poptin account like this.
You can also download the Prize code and Prize label data when you export your leads from Audience > Leads > Contacts:
You can also add Prize Label and Prize Code in the email content of the autoresponder email by adding the Prize code and Prize Label merge tags in the email body like this:
The Prize code and Prize label details will also come through on the Lead Notification emails like this:
.Important: Coupon codes (prizes) are saved on client-side, stored directly in your visitors' browsers. Tech-savvy or malicious users might find ways to access the codes resulting in unauthorized use. Despite this, gamified popups are great for lead generation in return for small rewards. Keep in mind that these popups are best suited for offering modest and affordable incentives that will be beneficial for you as well as for your potential customers.
