# How to integrate your poptin to Shopify flow?

Shopify Flow works on top of your Shopify Customers tab.

When a visitor subscribes through your Poptin popup, the contact is pushed to Shopify automatically and in near real time.

The email subscription status of the contact in Shopify depends on two settings in your Poptin popup - **Status** and whether you have an **Email Consent checkbox** on your popup.

**Status is the base requirement.** If it's set to Unconfirmed, contacts will always be pushed as Not Subscribed in Shopify, regardless of anything else.

Here's how it works when Status is set to **Subscribed**:

* **No consent checkbox on the popup** - all subscribers are pushed as Subscribed.
* **Consent checkbox present but visitor leaves it unticked** - pushed as Not Subscribed.
* **Consent checkbox present and visitor ticks it** - pushed as Subscribed.

You can find the Status setting under **Email & Integrations** in your popup editor. The Email Consent field can be added from the **Input Fields** section.
